Why Soap Made from Milk?

It’s a fair question—and one I often hear.

Today, I work on a dairy farm in Australia while also producing and selling AIKA SOAP, an organic milk soap born in Fukuoka, Japan—gentle on both skin and the planet.

The main ingredients in our soap include:

• Raw milk from pasture-raised Jersey cows (Shiraki Farm, Fukuoka)

• Whey, a valuable by-product from local cheese making—usually discarded

• Natural Japanese ingredients like camellia oil, indigo, and beetroot

Each bar is slowly matured for 90 days using the traditional cold-process method, handmade with care.

Our packaging and shipping are done in partnership with a welfare support facility in Fukuoka, creating a small but powerful system of shared purpose and dignity through every bar.

"It all started with dairy farming."

In high school, I faced challenges—illness in the family and my parents' divorce.

I decided to stand on my own and worked at an auto company for six years.

But eventually, I wanted to see the world, so I traveled to Canada and Australia.

Living and working on a rural farm, surrounded by cows and nature, I came to a realization:

“Dairy farming is one of the truest ways humans can connect with nature.”

That connection deeply moved me, and I wanted to share it with others.

I chose to express it through soap—a way to honor the nutrition and life that milk offers, and ensure nothing goes to waste.

AIKA SOAP is not just a product. It’s a lifestyle.

In July 2024, AIKA SOAP officially launched as the world’s first organic milk soap.

We reached over ¥180,000 in sales in the first month, with distribution now expanding in both Japan and Australia.

Through this soap, I aim to:

• Support people with sensitive skin

• Be kind to the environment

• Contribute to society

I believe that small acts of care can create positive cycles in everyday life.

Another mission of mine: Helping young Japanese step into the world

I’ve traveled to over 10 countries, worked abroad, and even represented New South Wales twice at international online summits.

So I say this from experience:

"Going abroad isn’t something special—it’s something possible."

All it takes is a passport to begin. The world opens up one step at a time.

Because I’ve faced and overcome barriers—financial, linguistic, emotional—

I want to help others take that first step forward into the world.

What’s next for me

• Build a shared, sustainable dairy farm and education space in Australia

• Share AIKA SOAP, made with Japan’s natural blessings, with the world

• Use soap—a small form of kindness—to reconnect people, nature, and society

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.

AIKA SOAP is more than just soap.

It carries my values, my journey, and the heartfelt support of everyone involved.

May this little cycle of care reach your life, too.
